Mission
The library provides materials and services to support the academic and general interest needs of the students, faculty and staff of Elizabeth Pinkerton Middle School and Cosumnes Oaks High School. Specifically we endeavor:
- to engage students in a life-long love of reading
- to teach information literacy skills to find, evaluate and use a variety of resources, and to cite them properly
- to provide print and non-print resources that support the school curricula
- to partner with teachers, school staff and parents to meet the educational needs of the students of Elizabeth Pinkerton Middle School

- 2 computer mini labs with networked black-and-white printer
- coin-operated photocopy machine
Information Literacy Standards
Standard 1. Students access information.
Students will access information by applying knowledge of the organization of libraries, print materials, digital media, and other sources.
Standard 2. Students evaluate information.
Students will evaluate and analyze information to determine what is appropriate to address the scope of inquiry.
Standard 3. Students use information.
Students will organize, synthesize, create, and communicate information.
Standard 4. Students integrate information literacy skills into all areas of learning.
Students will independently pursue information to become lifelong learners.
