Course Introduction

Art 7 and Art 8 are introductory Fine Arts classes designed to expose students to art through hands-on creation using a variety of media. The Elements and Principles of Art will be examined through discussion, activities, and the exploration of contemporary and historical works. Students gain knowledge of basic drawing skills, learn techniques specific to mediums such as oil pastel and watercolor, and explore their own creative ideas. Students learn how to talk, analyze, and write about works of art, using specific language as well as expressing their individual thoughts and feelings. The class is fun while challenging the creative side of the student.
