This course is for the 7th grade student who wants to learn how to play a band instrument. Even if they have never been in band before, we learn from the very basics. Over the course of the year these band students will learn how to make a good sound on their instrument, learn how to read musical notation, play together in a large group and learn to make music with their friends and classmates. We learn discipline, creativity, expression, math and teamwork in the bandroom. All of which are skills that will help them in their daily lives as band students and as future members of society. 7th Grade Band participates in one concert each term (4 concerts per year). This is a year long course, 2 terms in the school day and 2 terms before school during Zero Period. More details to come.

8th grade band is for the current band student who wants to grow deeper in his/her music. This is also a year long course, 2 terms during the school day and 2 terms meeting during Zero Period before school. We learn more challenging music and have more performances throughout the year. A very exciting part of 8th grade band is being a part of the Marching Wolves! We are one of 2 EGUSD Middle Schools who has a marching band. We proudly wear our Orange and Blue uniforms for several parades and performances (mostly in the spring). This band has at least 1 concert per term, but the spring has several more performances and festivals. A culmination of our year is to perform for the promotion ceremonies at the end of the year.
